Cotton area in Haryana is expected to be 5.98 lakh hectares higher compared by 21,000 hectares of more area than last year. So the Haryana government has estimated the production target to 24 quintal/hectare in 2011-12 compared to 19.5 quintal/hectare last year. <br><br>Farmers have replaced crops like guar, soyabean with cotton due to its attractive prices. The total production for 2011-12 will be estimated at 50.40 lakh quintals comped to 36 lakh quintals in the last year.
