Because of the diverse background of the members, CITA is a microcosm of the interests at stake in global agricultural policy debates.

The Governing Council of CITA includes prominent personalities, committed to Indian agriculture and agro-based industries, from public life, farmers organisation, corporate world, research and academic world from both public and private institutions which provides overall guidance to CITA.
