The title serves as a ready reckoner or manual of Export and Import law and procedure.
The chapters in the book have been divided broadly in two parts, part one covers commentary, part two comprises of the Exim Policy and Handbook of Procedures (Vol. I).

The DEPB rates list published by DGFT is at the end of this book. The ITC(HS) has also been published in this book in the form of a negative list by giving detail of each product whose import or export is either prohibited or restricted. The Input Output Norms is covered only in the form of commentary. This book puts the five books of Exim Policy into a single volume. Important forms are also given at the end of the book.

The law and procedure has been presented in topic form with all the relevant Policy, Handbook and customs, excise and FEMA provisions along with judicial and departmental interpretation at one place. The customs and excise notifications following issue of Exim Policy have been incorporated in the Commentary itself for ready reference. The original texts of the citations at the end of each chapter may be consulted for authenticity, if required.

The clarification issued in the last few years by DGFT, Customs and other authorities have been dealt with and explained at respective places in summarized form with reference to their source in footnote.
