Dr Patil is an eminent social scientist with multidisciplinary background and 45 years of experience in leading research, consultancy, policy making and capacity-building projects in 25 countries from Asia, Africa, Europe and America for 10 national and 25 bilateral, multilateral and international agencies while working for USAID for 6 years, Population Foundation for 6 years, Council for Social Development for 10 years, National Council of Applied Economic Research for 4 years, National Institute of Rural development for 3 years and Agricultural Development Council for 3 years in progressively higher positions.
His areas of specialization are urban, rural, tribal, socioeconomic and community development; sectors of interest are education, health, livelihood and governance; domains of expertise are in planning, monitoring, evaluation, documentation and advocacy for policy reforms and structural changes for faster and better results in which he has published 6 books, 150 reports, 200 papers and 25 audio-visual products.
He has provided technical and capacity building support to more than 200 NGOs in South Asia and other countries through international NGOs like South Asia Partnership, Lutheran World Service and Plan International in various capacities like Chairperson and chief Adviser. He has trained 1500 development professionals in designing and implementing socioeconomic research projects and 1000 development practitioners in designing and implementing socioeconomic program and policy interventions at various stages in their career development.
Sudarshan is co-founder and CEO of Indian Society of Agribusiness Professionals (ISAP), the parent body of ICRIS. His expertise areas include community mobilisation for forming producer organisations, integrated farming systems, market linkages, supply chains, water resource management, small & micro enterprise, international consulting and training. Out of more than 20 years of experience in these areas, he has spent more than a decade working and travelling extensively and interacting with farmers in 27 countries across Asia and Africa. Sudarshan is B.Tech (Agri) and MTech (IIT, Kharagpur).
With more than two decades in consulting, Poonam specialises in policy and action research, CSR, sustainability and social enterprise, programme design and impact evaluation. She has advised a range of entities in energy, telecom, agribusiness, consumer goods and financial and commodity sectors. She was earlier an advisor to the Sustainability Consulting Practice at PwC India. Prior to that she had created and led a Corporate Responsibility consulting practice at Genesis Burson-Marsteller, India. Poonam is a member of several expert groups, including the working group of Sustainability Alliance Partners at UN Global Compact Network India. She has also played senior editorial roles at Mint and The Financial Express. Poonam founded and heads Inesa Advisory Services Pvt Ltd, a consulting firm focused on sustainable development. Poonam holds an Honours degree in Economics and MA and MPhil in Business Economics from the University of Delhi.
With more than 25 years of consulting, Saroja specialises in agriculture and consumer research, rural sector and market research, supply chain, audits, media, supply chain, audits, mobile technologies, remote access, mobile media content and knowledge process outsourcing (KPO). She is currently CEO of Agriwatch. A PGDM (IIM Ahmedabad), Saroja co-founded Naukri.com and jeevansathi.com and helped set up, building and running these ventures. She was integral to the process of inviting venture capital funds and helped the company grow from a seven-person, one-office operation to over 200 persons, 13 offices and a turnover of over a million US dollars. She is also co-founded Movico technologies which works on mobile technologies especially remote access, video/audio streaming and VAS.
